Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

A totally different pizza experience! I say that as a good thing, the pizza has more of an authentic feel to that and it makes the pizza taste so much better than anything else I have had in St. Louis. Right off Wydown ave it is an easy location to get to and the staff there are very helpful. I would recommend the Royal pizza with one of the beers they have on tap. The sandwiches are also amazing if you are not in the mood for pizza. All summed up perfect place to run in for a bite to eat, or sit down with your family and enjoy the atmosphere. The owner, Jim, is certain to keep you entertained and well fed. I will be back

Went today for lunch - amazing! The heritage was just fantastic. The owner is so nice and accommodating. Can't wait to go back and try the "grilled" pizzas. Would recommend to anyone - try it!!

Hermitage pizza was delicious, fennel and mushroom salad was refreshing and tasty - and you cannot miss Vicky's Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I love this place! The pizza is authentic, the salad was great with homemade dressing, and the soup incredible, and the ice cream rocked! I would go back in a heartbeat. Best kept secret in Clayton. Also nice patio for spring days and good beer! I can't wait to go back.

If I could rate their cookies alone, I'd give them eight stars. I know that's not possible, but I would try. You can tell this place puts a lot of soul into its food. Good artisanal pizza on a variety of crusts, tasty soups and salads (okay, let's be honest, I haven't tried the salads, but they look good), libations, and perfectly perfect cookies. It's like my Italian grandmother is cooking for me again, but instead she's been re-incarnated as a middle aged man. Either way, grandma, I'll be coming in for cookies, pizza, and wine. Soon.

After a couple visits to Pizzino I'm ready to show some love. The food, prices, and service are all on -point. The space is comfortable and casual, and there's a nice patio out front. There's two types of pizza, the grilled thin-crust (personal-sized) and the more hearty Roma style with bread baked in-house. (Roma is only available Wed-Sun) Both are very good. There's also a few salads, panini's, and soups. I can highly recommend the Albertina ($9) with pesto, artichoke, goat-cheese, and more. The toppings were stacked high and the flavors were intense and delicious. It also tasted great the next day. The Augustus ($8.50) with Italian sausage and more was also quite nice. The Fiore panini ($8.50) w/ cajun turkey, bacon, swiss, and more was highly enjoyed by both my dad and myself, the bread was solid and crispy and the cheese was oozing out. Also, the tomato basil soup was especially flavorful. On my second visit the very kind & friendly owner offered me a sample of the special grilled pizza of the month -- The Kofta, a Mediterranan-inspired recipe with seasoned beef, chickpeas and more. WOW this was delicious with a spicy kick. This will definitely be the next thing I order. Hurry because it's only available for a few weeks. They had 3 beers on tap -- all local. One of them was Perennial's Hommel, a flavorful Belgian Pale Ale that went great with the pizza. This is the kind of beer that can win over people who don't care for beer much. If that's not enough, there were also free samples of delicious chocolate-chip cookies. Service was very welcoming and everyone I've brought here has loved it.

Pretty tasty - it's no Ians in Madison, or Artichoke in NYC. But it's the best I've had in the St. Louis area. The ingredients are fresh and taste authentic. The crust has a nice crisp to it but is still relatively light. Very interesting and tasty combos. I've been twice, had the margherita (sp?) and the tuscan steak one. I plan to be back again (tomorrow, actually!).

Pizzino is the best Italian-style pizza you can find in St. Louis! I loved both the focaccia and grilled pizzas. The Caesar salad and tomato bisque are also amazing!! The Fiore and Vavale sandwiches are spot on. All the ingredients are extremely fresh and many are imported from Italy. I highly recommend Pizzino!

Went back for more and tried the focaccia! Mmm delicious - will be hard to decide which to get when I go back (maybe both)!

I ordered last night for delivery. Delivery takes about an hour but I don't mind. It was still warm when it got to me and it was so delicious! I got a Fiore Panini and Starbucks frap drink. The panini looks small but it is very filling. I was completely satisfied. The homemade focaccia is amazing. Everything in the sandwich was perfection! I'm ordering again tonight!

I will definitely be a returning customer! Enjoyed my pizza slice which was more of a personal pizza with how large it was. Appreciated the speed, cleanliness, and awesome owner who greeted us as we were walking up to his establishment! The pizza I had was on focaccia and I could eat it all day! Also finished with a 2 pack of cookies to go, which were also on point.

I have eaten at Pizzino numerous times now. My favorite thing is the "Orlando" (San Marzano Tomatoes, Garlic, Fontina and Pecorino Blend, Hot Calabrese Salami, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil) grilled pizza. The crust is thin and a bit crispy. All I can say is you can taste how fresh and flavorful everything is. This is a place that really cares what kind of product they are putting out and it is perfectly evident in the food. It's a great place for a quick lunch or dinner.

Pizzino is a bit tucked away on Wydown boulevard in St. Louis near the Starbucks on Hanley. It has a great patio where you can sit and have a beer while enjoying the evening breeze. Jim the owner is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable fellow who can talk with you for hours about food. He has been working for years on refining his dishes and it shows. The thick focaccia style pizza tastes like one that you can find in Genova or in the south of Italy. Try the Royal. The thin one baked right there in the oven is its own invention. I like the Margherita with fresh mozzarella tomato and basil. Try also the chocolate treats that his wife Vicky prepares. If you have kids try the soups. My son has the Fiore sandwich each time. Overall a great quick dining experience in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Thumbs up!

Great pizza, salads, and atmosphere! The owner is awesome too, remembers your name if you are a regular and beautiful outdoor seating. I take my girlfriend here for special occasions and it never disappoints

I had a very pleasant lunch here today. Of course the food was delicious. I had one of the pizzas with pesto, sausage, and goat cheese (I forgot the name of it.) But what stood out was the great customer service. The owner himself was taking orders and delivered our meal. He was friendly, but it wasn't forced. I could tell he really cares about the customers experience and the quality of the food. What a great experience!

Was very excited to try out this place in our neighborhood tonight, and was not disappointed! Great food and great value! While the menu is not overly expansive, you have enough choices / options to be satisfied. I ordered the house salad - a good size portion - and the Augustus pizza. Both were very good. I would say on next visit, I might get a salad and split the pizza even though the pizzas are individual sizes, they were a generous portion. I had a couple of good local beers and plan to try out the wine menu on next visit, which will be often! Also had no problem bringing my dog and sitting outside to eat, the owner has a water bowl outside for pets, the patio is just big enough that I could tuck my 45 pound dog in a corner of the outside dining area and not be a bother to other tables.

Pizzino is great! Finally a great casual lunch spot on Wydown. The pepperoni was delicious. This place is perfect for a quick sit down or a longer lunch. I will definitely be going back.

Stopped in while visiting a friend from school. I was staying at the hotel close by and had heard great things about it. I ordered the chicken caesar salad and personal pizza for the lunch special. The waitress Hillary was very personable and the owner even came by to say hello. By far one of my favorite lunches I've had. I can't wait to return this summer!

I always like to support new local businesses and was looking forward to trying Pizzino. Decided to head over at lunchtime (12:15) and was surprised to see not one car in the lot. Employees were looking out as I drove up, as if it say "Hey, we have a customer!" Went in and the staff was very friendly. Ordered a make your own personal pizza with two ingredients. Was surprised at the tab of $9.50, but thought "It's probably worth it." They promptly had my pizza completed and I took it to-go. When I got home, I was shocked at the lack of toppings. I began to eat it and quickly noticed I had an overwhelming taste of flour. I looked at the other 5 tiny slices and they were caked with flour on the bottom. I tried one more slice and it didn't get any better, so I just tossed it in the trash. Now I know why the parking lot was empty, when I arrived at lunchtime.

Really enjoyed the gluten free pizza crust which was very crisp and tasty, held together, and not too heavy. Congratulations on taking a gluten free crust to a more enjoyable level. Of course, the whole pizza was fantastic, not just the crust. Nice salad and a glass of vino. Very nice. Surpassed my expectations.

New restaurant in Clayton with imaginative, tasty thin or thick crust pizza using homemade dough. Actually, the word "pizza" doesn't do the food justice. Also loved the tomato basil soup. Will definitely go back but worried that it will be crowded once everybody else figures it out. Well done!

Get a piece of the focaccia pizza. It's like fancy pan pizza. The focaccia is light and airy and buttery and delicious. Nice little patio, nice service, good beer. Great place.

  • Megan C.

I cannot tell you how good this was. The crusts on both kinds of pizza's were perfect, all the topping were cooked and crisped to perfection and the sauce was especially delicious. I love the casual feel of it but the gourmet level and taste of the amazing pizza they have. Cannot wait to go back and try a sandwich. Amazing job Pizzino.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
